    Jim brings to Dynamic over 23 years experience in the structured finance field and has worked on residential and commercial mortgage-backed securities on the trading side since 1992. Prior to founding Dynamic in 2003, Jim headed the European CDO team at Deutsche Bank (London), and previously was a senior member of the structured products/derivatives group at Bear Stearns. Jim was a RMBS and CMBS specialist from 1992-1996 at Nomura & Myerberg. Jim’s experience as a tax lawyer for 6 years with Cadwalader gives him in-depth knowledge of the legal and structural nuances within the mortgage-backed credit sector. Jim’s highest degrees are an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics (1983) and a LL.M. (Taxation) from NYU (1990).

Tonko Gast

    Tonko is responsible for European ABS and CMBS initiatives, specifically top-down macro analysis and strategy for investments and sourcing new opportunities. Tonko has also designed the quantitative systems and models for the firm-wide analysis of structured credit securities. Prior to co-founding Dynamic in 2003, Tonko was the Senior Portfolio Manager of the highly rated $250 million (equiv.) Sumisei ABN Amro CDO Fund, investing in mezzanine structured credit tranches, from 2001-2003. Previously, Tonko was a quantitative analyst with SNS Asset Management designing complex bond portfolio simulators, and analyzing structured credit transactions. Tonko received his M.Sc. (Economics) from University of Groningen, and completed advanced courses in Financial Engineering at the University of Amsterdam, and Credit Risk Modeling at Stanford Business School.

David M. Schwartz

    David manages Dynamic’s advisory business, as well as the development of certain ABS investment processes. David has been responsible for cash and synthetic CDO investment and trading, legacy CDO portfolio management, and the development of new product initiatives. Prior to joining Dynamic in 2004, David worked at Morgan Stanley as a derivative and structured credit strategist, identifying trading opportunities across CDO products and developing proprietary research. Previously, David was a strategist in the fixed income, currency and commodities division at Goldman Sachs, where he focused on exotic derivative products and trading strategies. David holds a B.A. with honors in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University and an M.A. in Mathematics of Finance from Columbia University, and is also a CFA charter-holder.
